Mario Alberto Silva
World Class Trumpet Player
Mario teaches a variety of styles and techniques to meet the performance needs of all his students.
He has an extensive professional background. He has been touring around the world for over 20 years.
In 2016, while on a performance scholarship at CSU East Bay for his MA, he was awarded a Grammy for his participation on the 2015 Reggae Album of the Year.
In 2018 he wrote and released his own album entitled "Pan American Sonata" Featuring long time friend, and seven time Grammy Nominee, superstar pianist from Cuba, Chuchito Valdes.
Mario was also the former director of instrumental music at the Contra Costa School of the Performing Arts in 2016.
He is currently the trumpet instructor at Las Positas College, Chabot College, CSU East Bay, and the Brass Coach at Foothill and Livermore High School.
His experience with schools makes him very familiar with the audition process and what is expected from students.
